Kristy is a licensed acupuncturist with a Master’s degree in Oriental Medicine. She graduated in 2004 from one of the top ten schools in the US for Traditional Chinese Medicine, The Atlantic Institute Of Oriental Medicine. Founded by medical doctors and acupuncturists from China, she received one of the best educations available in TCM. Kristy has also worked with many acupuncture providers in Maryland with backgrounds in Five Element acupuncture, and has learned to incorporate treatments which are result- oriented and have proven to bring relief to her clients.
Kristy previously worked in the Community Acupuncture setting at Community Acupuncture of Towson, where she developed her distal treatment plans shown to provide relief for almost any symptom. Kristy also worked as the Director of Outreach for Mend Acupuncture, providing Community and Private acupuncture sessions. In 2016 she presented the first Acupuncture Grand Rounds in Oncology for Western Medical Providers CEU credit at GBMC, a service which continues to this day. Batya Kleen is a licensed Acupuncturist in the State of Maryland. She received her Master’s Degree in Acupuncture from Northwestern Health Sciences University College of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine with an emphasis in Sports Medicine, and her Doctorate of Acupuncture with an emphasis in Integrative Medicine from Pacific College of Health and Science. She has completed certification and training in Craniosacral Therapy from the Heartwood Institute.
Through her training at Northwestern Health Sciences, she’s completed several internships that provided integrative care. These included the Integrative Clinic of Minnesota where she worked with chiropractor, massage therapy, and medical students to develop plans of care for their patients, and the Human Performance Center where she helped patients who were athletes. She earned her Master of Science in Traditional Chinese Medicine from Five Branches University in Santa Cruz, CA. Five Branches University is recognized as a leading TCM school worldwide, emphasizing the integration of TCM with Western Medicine.
Before her career as an acupuncturist, Trisha earned her Bachelor of Arts, Social Advocacy from Cal Poly Humboldt and began a career in non-profit organizations. Trisha worked for many years managing programs that provided community support through re-entry, employment, housing, and case management services. This experience paved the way to Trisha’s collaborative healthcare approach.
Her treatment style utilizes modalities best suited for each patient’s unique needs, including acupuncture, electro-acupuncture, cupping, gua sha, and moxibustion.
Outside of acupuncture, Trisha enjoys Qi Gong, Yoga, sustainable gardening, live music, and outdoor adventures.
